Remember how last week I said I was struggling to focus? Well this weekend I’m hoping to rectify that as I’m on a retreat!
I’ve met lots of lovely new people already, made a start on novel revising, prepped a post for Monday’s Kidlit Survival Guide, and enjoyed a sunset walk by the ocean.
So send me your good writing vibes for this weekend! And forgive me for this being brief, I’ve got work to do.
p.s. some of the links are bookshop.org affiliate links so I might earn a small commission if you buy from them, but as always I encourage you to visit your local independent bookstore instead. This month I’ll be donating any affiliate earnings to the LA wildfire relief.
On Kidlit Survival Guide this week Vicky shared how to find your hook for your manuscript with some great examples.
The action for LA wildfire relief runs through Sunday 26th at 9pm. My item is not one but TWO picture book critiques. Go bid for it or one of the other incredible items!
I loved The Briar Club by Kate Quinn. Then I raced through The Favorites by Layne Fargo (loved it too, reminded me of Daisy Jones and the Six). And I’m now reading It’s Elementary by Elise Bryant.
With love,
Christine xo

A retreat sounds so lovely! And it seems you’re made great progress already 👏❤️
I was considering attending that retreat too--can't wait to hear more about it soon!
